Helping Your Child at Home

At St Catherine's, we believe that a good relationship between home and school is crucial to a child's development.  Ongoing dialogue between teachers and parents/carers can support and accelerate both the child's academic and social development.

Pupils receive homework tasks every week - appropriate to their age and ability - and we ask that parents work alongside their child so that they produce 'homework' of a good standard and develop a positive attitude towards learning outside of their school environment.

In addition to the set homework tasks, we ask that parents to read with, and to, their child at least 3 times a week.  The 'Reading Record' is a great way to establish the communication between home and school and alerts children to that communication.

The type of homework tasks sent home can be found on the Year Group pages for each class.
