Admissions
Due to a revision in the Admissions policies provided by the Catholic Education Service, we are required to go out for consultation on our 2027-28 admission arrangements. The consultation is as follows:
CONSULTATION ON ADMISSION ARRANGEMENTS FOR ST CATHERINE’S CATHOLIC PRIMARY SCHOOL FOR 2027-2028 ACADEMIC YEAR
Notice is hereby given in accordance with legislation that the governing body as the admission authority for St Catherine’s Catholic Primary School is formally consulting on its proposed admission arrangements for the school year 2027-2028.
As an admission authority, the school is required to consult the following:
a) Parents of children between the ages of two and eighteen;
b) Other persons in the ‘relevant area’ (set by the Local Authority) who in the opinion of the school
have an interest in the proposed admissions (e.g. local priests, other deanery Catholic Schools, etc.);
c) All other admission authorities within the ‘relevant area’;
d) The Local Authority (LA);
e) The Education Service of the Diocese of Arundel and Brighton.
In summary, the proposed changes being made to admission arrangements are to accommodate new policies that align with the national Catholic Education Service models and wording, including:
- Making criteria are clearer and reducing unnecessary criteria
- Ensuring notes are more succinct
- Removing reference to parishes
- Removing the need for the SIF to be countersigned
The six-week (minimum) consultation will begin on Wednesday, 3 December 2025 with the closing date for submitting comments being 14 January 2026.

Comments on the proposed admissions arrangements should be sent to St Catherine’s Catholic Primary School by the closing date (latest midnight on 14 January 2024).

Prospective parents are welcome to come along and visit the school at any time - please ring the School Office on 01903 716039 to make an appointment. Parents are asked to complete the School's Supplementary Information Forms and provide proof of baptism if they wish to claim admission based on religious character. These can be downloaded by clicking the links below. The forms are also available from the School Office.
