LUNCHTIME

Children can either bring in a packed lunch or have a hot meal provided by Chartwells.

Children in Early Years, Years 1 and 2 are entitled to a free hot meal under the Government's Universal Infant School Meal scheme.  Children in older classes can have hot meals, but parents will need to order and pay for these via Parentpay.  Parents/carers will need to register with Parentpay and should contact the school office who will provide the relevant information.  Meal orders must be made at least 10 days beforehand.

Menu information can be found on the Chartwells website or via this link:

If your child has an allergy, it is the parents' responsibility to inform Chartwells.  Special menus can be provided for children once Chartwell's receives a doctor's letter detailing the known allergy.

PACKED LUNCH GUIDELINES

St Catherine’s recognises that some pupils bring packed lunches from home. We aim to work in partnership with parents and carers to ensure packed lunches support pupils’ health, concentration and well-being, and reflect the principles of the School Food Standards.

A guideline to which foods are suitable for a healthy packed lunch and which items we ask parents not to include can be found in our Healthy Packed Lunch Guide for Parents & Carers

MILK

Children are entitled to free milk each day until they reach 5 years of age.  Parents can register Reception children when they join the school and pupil's will continue to have free milk until the week of their 5th birthday.

After this date, if parents wish their child(ren) to continue to receive milk, they will need to order and pay for the milk through "CoolMilk for Schools" which can be accessed by using the link below:

NUT ALLERGIES

St Catherine's is a nut-free school, committed to providing a safe and inclusive environment for all pupils. By maintaining a nut-free policy, we help protect those with severe allergies and reduce the risk of potentially life-threatening reactions. We kindly ask all families to support this effort by ensuring that packed lunches and snacks do not contain nuts or nut-based products. Together, we can create a secure and caring community where every child feels safe and able to thrive.
